How Can Pakistani Manufacturers Sell on Amazon US?

Published November 2, 2026

Key takeaways

  • Pakistani businesses can register to sell on Amazon US, and the account should sit in the name of the company that owns your factory.
  • Amazon can block an account whose documents don't match, that runs a second account without a business reason or that looks like fraud.
  • A US company is not always required, so settle payouts, tax and duties with your own advisers before you register.
  • Never pay a trainer or provider who promises income, sells accounts or wants your password.

Your phone fills with ads from people promising to make you rich on Amazon by next month, and a cousin has already paid for one of their courses. Your mill still ships the same towels, denim or hosiery to US buyers, at a thinner margin each season, and you start to wonder whether the factory itself should be selling on Amazon US.

You can sell on Amazon US from Pakistan, under your own brand, as a company. The route is a seller account registered in your company's name, verification documents that match each other exactly, a payout and tax setup your advisers have checked, and branded stock shipped to Amazon's US warehouses. What goes wrong for Pakistani sellers is rarely the selling itself. It's the setup, and the people offering to do it for you.

How can a Pakistani manufacturer sell on Amazon US?

A Pakistani manufacturer sells on Amazon US by registering a Professional seller account in the name of its own company, passing Amazon's identity and business verification, and shipping its branded products to Amazon's US warehouses. Amazon added Pakistan to the countries whose sellers can register in May 2021, as Marketplace Pulse reported on 22 June 2022.

Amazon's own list of what you need to register is short. You'll need a government-issued ID, an internationally chargeable credit card, a bank account, your business license or registration, proof of address from the last 180 days and your tax information. The Professional plan costs $39.99 a month plus selling fees, according to the same page.

From there, the work runs in a fixed order.

  1. Choose which of your products to launch first, on US demand and the price left after Amazon's fees, freight and duties.
  2. Register and verify the account in your company's name.
  3. File a trademark for your brand so you can enroll in Amazon Brand Registry, Amazon's program that lets the trademark owner control its listings.
  4. Pack to Amazon's rules and ship to FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon, where Amazon stores, ships and handles returns for you).
  5. Build the listings and start Amazon Ads, then tune both on live data.

A rule on imports catches exporters out. When you ship to FBA from outside the US, Amazon's guide for sellers outside the US says you or your provider must act as importer of record, and Amazon takes no responsibility for the duties. That's why duties belong in your price from the first day.

If you'd rather hand the research, listings and ads around those steps to a single partner, that's the work our Amazon launch services cover, while your team makes, packs and ships the stock. Either way, write down which of those steps your own staff can own today, and which they can't.

Why was my Pakistani Amazon seller account deactivated?

A Pakistani Amazon seller account is deactivated for the same reasons Amazon closes any account, which are information it can't verify, more than one account without a business reason, or activity it treats as fraud. Pakistan also has a history with Amazon that every new seller there inherits. Rest of World reported on 3 January 2023 that in May 2022 Amazon shut down roughly 13,000 Pakistani seller accounts it suspected of fraud.

One Lahore seller told the publication, "You can create an account, and instantly, it's blocked or sometimes never approved." That's the experience you're trying to avoid, and most of the causes sit inside your control.

Start with verification. Amazon's global seller verification page asks for a photo ID, government documents that prove your business is active and a proof of address, and the business documents must match what you entered at registration. Documents in Urdu need a notarized translation into one of Amazon's accepted languages, English among them. If Amazon asks you to resubmit, you have 30 days, and after that the onboarding closes.

Then read the seller code of conduct. It asks every seller to give accurate information at all times and not to run more than one selling account without a legitimate business need. An account opened by a trainer on a shared laptop, or a second account "just in case", puts both of those rules at risk.

So before you register, lay your company registration, your bank statement and your director's ID side by side. Check that the names and the address match letter for letter, and fix any difference with your bank or registrar first.

Do I need a US company or LLC to sell on Amazon US from Pakistan?

A Pakistani company does not always need a US company or LLC to sell on Amazon US, because Amazon accepts sellers from most countries with a local business and verified documents. Amazon's global selling page says a business outside the US may not be required to form a US company, though it can be an advantage depending on your business and sales plans.

Brands that still set one up usually do it for payouts, tax or later plans with US retailers and other marketplaces. Pakistan isn't on Amazon's list of countries for direct bank payouts, so how you'll receive the money is a decision in its own right. The options, their fees and the timing are set out in our guide on how sellers outside the US get paid by Amazon.

Tax comes up during registration too. Amazon's registration requirements include a tax interview that decides whether you complete a W-9 as a US taxpayer or a W-8BEN as a non-US taxpayer. Duties are a separate line, and US tariffs change often, so read how US tariffs change your Amazon US pricing before you set a price.

We don't give legal or tax advice. Take these questions to your own lawyer and accountant before you register. Do you need a US entity for your plans, which tax form applies to your company, and how will profits come home? Then ask your customs broker for the current duty rate on each product you plan to ship.

How do I avoid Amazon training and service scams in Pakistan?

You avoid Amazon training and service scams in Pakistan by never paying anyone who promises a fixed income, sells a ready-made account or asks for your login. Rest of World found a growing number of paid training institutes teaching people to sell on Amazon, and noted that some of them become breeding grounds for future scammers.

The demand behind them is huge. In June 2022 the two largest Pakistani Amazon seller groups had more than a million members each, according to the same Marketplace Pulse report. A crowd that size attracts people who sell hope rather than results.

The warning signs are easy to spot once you know them.

  • A promise of monthly income or a guaranteed sales figure.
  • An offer to sell you an existing or "aged" seller account.
  • A request for your Seller Central password instead of a user login of their own.
  • Pressure to register under their company, their address or their device.
  • Fees paid upfront for "account approval", which no one but Amazon can grant.

Keep the account in your company's name and give any provider its own user permissions, which you can remove at any time. Our guide on how to protect your Amazon account when outsourcing covers those permissions in detail. Before you pay anyone, ask for the names of two brands they've launched and the dates, and call one of them.

What should Pakistani brands look for in an Amazon partner?

Pakistani brands should look for an Amazon partner that works inside an account you own, shows you the numbers before you commit, and can explain its method on one of your own products. A long list of past sellers matters less than whether the partner understands a manufacturer that already ships to US buyers.

Ask what the partner will do and what stays with you. In our model, your team registers the account, makes the product, packs it and ships it to FBA. We run the research, listings, ads and scaling, and we build the P&L with you. From product choice to a live, tuned listing usually takes about six to nine weeks.

Ask about the numbers next. A P&L by product, with the month each product breaks even, tells you more than any forecast of sales. If a partner can't say which of your products might lose money, it hasn't looked closely enough.

Ask about hours and reporting too. Karachi and the US East Coast sit nine or ten hours apart, so ask who answers your team during your working day and how often you'll see sales, ad spend and margin per product.

Finally, ask for proof with dates and periods from brands like yours. If a provider has none from your country yet, ask to see its method applied to one of your products before you sign anything.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell on Amazon US as an individual in Pakistan?

Amazon offers an Individual plan, but a manufacturer is better served by a Professional account in the company's name. The company account matches your export documents, your bank account and your trademark, and it keeps the brand with the business if a director leaves.

How long does Amazon take to verify a Pakistani seller?

Amazon's registration guide says identity checks usually finish in three business days or less, though a review can ask for more papers. Answering a resubmission request quickly, with clean copies, keeps the process short.

Can my B2B products and my Amazon brand come from the same factory?

Yes. The usual approach is to start with products, sizes or packs your US buyers don't carry, so your Amazon line adds to your export business instead of undercutting it.

Should we launch on Walmart at the same time?

Walmart Marketplace and other US marketplaces can sit next to Amazon rather than after it. Whether they belong in your first quarter depends on the product and on how much stock and budget your team can carry across two channels at once.
